What a great weekend! I had such a good time at the Calgary Creative Art Guild’s spring show!

It was held last Saturday, April 9th and had a great turnout, with just over 400 people in attendance.

It was nice to get some feedback from the show patrons, as well as the other artists who were also showing their work that day.

It really is amazing, especially in abstract art, just how many different ways there are to interpret a piece. It's so interesting to hear the wide array of different perspectives people have when looking at the exact same painting.

The obvious highlight for me, was that I won one of the 3 ribbons that were awarded (out of almost 250 paintings that were submitted) for my painting "Bloom", and I also got a special critique from the judge, who is also a prominent artist here in Calgary.

All in all, it was a very cool experience! I now feel more excited than ever to get back in the studio and get creative!
